Hi my name is Aqueenah (uh-key-nuh). I first picked up a camera because I loved documenting my own family story, then I realized I loved working with teens. It made me remember all the fun I had during my senior year of high school and how optimistic I was for my future. From preparing for the last homecoming, getting ready for prom with my girls, trying not to get emotional during graduation (you will get emotional) to the after graduation turn up. As a senior photographer, I get to relive those moments every year.

I was born and raised in West Oakland, CA and spent many summers and Christmas breaks with my dad in Oklahoma City. Growing up, I spent many days binge watching Rugrats and Hey Arnold on Nickelodeon, playing board games with my 2 closest cousins, riding our bikes all over West Oakland until the street lights came on, curled up in front of the heater reading Harry Potter and The Baby Sitters Club and getting dressed up every Sunday to go to church with my Grandma.

Some of my greatest artistic influences include; Gordon Parks, Maya Angelou, John Singleton, Jamel Shabazz and Tupac.

When I’m not taking photos or working on a design project, you can find me hanging out with my nieces and nephew, listening to my favorite soul music or planning my next travel adventure.
